The Château Malartic-Lagravière is based on a 71-hectare vineyard planted on an exceptional Pyrenean gravel hilltop. The red grape varieties (62 ha) are 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The grand vin is aged for 15 to 20 months in French oak barrels, 40 to 70% of which are new. The Réserve de Malartic is the Second vin rouge.
The white grape varieties (9 ha) are 80% Sauvignon blanc and 20% Sémillon. The grand vin blanc is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, 40 to 70% of which are new. The Réserve de Malartic is the Second white wine.
The Château Malartic-Lagravière is a great, very elegant wine, both red and white. The reds are fruity, fleshy and structured, while the whites are unctuous and saline. Quite simply, these are haute-couture wines.
