Saint-Emilion.

70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Château Faugères is a prominent estate situated in the acclaimed Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Covering 37 hectares, this vineyard is renowned for producing wines of exceptional quality and depth. The estate primarily cultivates Merlot, with smaller plantings of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, benefiting from the region's limestone and clay soils.

James Suckling: 94-95/100

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 92-94/100
The 2023 Faugeres is deep garnet-purple in color. A little shy to begin, it needs some coaxing to bring out notes of blackberry preserves and plum pudding plus suggestions of mossy tree bark, wild fungi, and fragrant soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound, with lightly chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing on a lingering earthy note.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 92-94/100

Jane Anson: 92/100
As always a reflection also of a powerful terroir that gives intense concentrated wines, with cocoa bean and black pepper spice, a a good lick of pumice stone, well handled if evident grilled oak.
